SLAAQP Quality Month 2026

President’s Message

Sajeewa Ranasinghe

President, SLAAQP

Dear Business Leaders, Quality Professionals, Employees and Families,

I am delighted to announce that the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP) has declared November as Quality Month for Sri Lankan industries. Beginning in November 2026, and continuing every year, this will be a time for the whole nation to celebrate quality and to commit to doing better.

November is already observed around the world as World Quality Month, with World Quality Week and World Quality Day on the second Thursday of November. By joining this global movement, Sri Lankan organisations stand alongside quality professionals in every part of the world. Our theme this year, “Quality: Powering Performance for a Resilient Sri Lanka”, reminds us that quality is not only about products and services. It is what makes our organisations competitive and our economy resilient.

Since 1996, SLAAQP has built a strong national platform for quality and productivity. At NCQP 2026 we saw more than 2,000 delegates and 450 improvement teams share their work. Quality Month carries that energy beyond a single event and into every workplace across the country, for a whole month.

What makes Quality Month special is that it reaches beyond the workplace. Through national poster and essay competitions for employees and their families, our employees and their children will learn that quality is a way of life — at work, at home, at school and in the community.

I invite every organisation in Sri Lanka — manufacturing and service, public and private, large and small, member or not — to register and take part. Whether you hold a full Quality Month or a Quality Week, SLAAQP will support you with guidance, a toolkit, national competitions and recognition. Registration is free.

I thank the TQM Committee, the Quality Month Organizing Committee, the Council of SLAAQP and our partners for making this initiative possible. Let us make this November a celebration of quality that every Sri Lankan can be proud of.

Sajeewa Ranasinghe

President
Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP)
